What to expect
Set out on an unforgettable journey through the heart of Una National Park. Drive through stunning landscapes, walk alongside magnificent waterfalls, and feel the peace that only untouched nature can offer. The roughly 120 km route takes us from Bihać to Štrbački buk, through Kulen Vakuf to Martin Brod and Milančev buk, then back to the resort.
1. Departure from the resort
The tour starts at White Hills Resort with a short briefing about the route and safety. You get all the gear and we check the vehicles before heading off to the first destination. We start early in the morning to make the most of the day and avoid the biggest crowds at the attractions.
2. Drive to Štrbački buk
Settle in comfortably and enjoy a panoramic drive through untouched nature all the way to the beautiful Štrbački buk. Along the way we pass through the picturesque village of Gorjevac, where meadows, pastures and rural houses open up before us, while green slopes and mountain peaks dominate in the distance.
3. Walk to the viewpoint
After we leave the vehicles, we walk down the wooden boardwalk that winds through untouched nature and leads us to the viewpoint „Pogledalo". From here an impressive view opens onto the mighty Štrbački buk, while the fresh air and the sound of water create a special feeling of peace and energy. If you are lucky, you may also see brave kayakers leaping over the falls, defying the power and beauty of the Una.
4. Drive to Martin Brod
The road takes us about forty minutes through stunning landscapes, driving through the forest along the Una. On the way we pass through the historic town of Kulen Vakuf, a guardian of the rich past of these lands. Above it rise the medieval fortresses of Ostrovica and Havala, while the old Jarapaga bridge reminds us of times when the Una was the main connection between peoples and cultures. Along this route we also discover many hidden gems that further enrich the journey.
5. Milančev buk
On arrival in Martin Brod we leave the vehicles and start an easy walk through this fairytale town, woven with narrow streets and surrounded by untouched nature. Walking through the quiet and picturesque atmosphere of Martin Brod we reach Milančev buk, the second largest waterfall in Una National Park. The waterfall sits in a setting rich with history and natural beauty, and the roar of water and the surrounding greenery leave the impression of a place from a fairytale.
6. Free time
Enjoy an hour of free time, try delicious local specialties, capture unforgettable moments in photos, or simply relax to the soothing sound of the Una, surrounded by nature that captivates at first sight. After the break we head back to White Hills Resort along the same or an alternative route, depending on conditions.
